How To Stay Focused In Training During The Holidays

The holidays can be really tempting. You just want to make the most out of it by relaxing and doing things that you like. But this is also the time when we get to eat everything we want. So how to balance things out and still be on track of your fitness goals? Read more about it here:

WRITE DOWN YOUR FITNESS GOALS

Jot down what you want to achieve before, during, and after the holidays. There is power in writing your goals and sticking to them. One effective trick is to write it on a post-it note and stick it somewhere you see it often or once you wake up in the morning. It's always good to be reminded of our goals.

CREATE A WORKOUT CALENDAR

Decide on what kinds of workout you want to do and make a calendar for it. A calendar can help you be on track with your goals. It can be your daily reminder to be disciplined despite having all the holiday food in front of you or the cold weather that makes you want to just lay on the bed all day.

DO VARIATIONS ON YOUR WORKOUT ROUTINE.
Don't be afraid to spice things up! You can do different kinds of workouts every day. In this way, you won't get bored and be more excited to try new things out. This also applies to food. Don't forget to treat yourself too to a cheat day. The holidays are still a season of enjoying the things you love anyway.

PLAN YOUR HOLIDAY MEALS

Always be mindful of your diet even if you are already tempted to indulge with all the festive food and drinks. Calorie count can get out of hand without you noticing it. Avoid eating too sugary food and drinks, as well as processed and fatty meat. You won't have a hard time getting back to hard training just by eating mindfully.

STAY HYDRATED

Training for a race or just enjoying the holidays, don't forget to always hydrate. Celebratory drinks are what everyone is excited about but, drinking water balances everything out. Drinking water will help you avoid unnecessary food cravings too.

HAVE A WORKOUT BUDDY

Having someone who can be your workout buddy can help you in focusing on your holiday fitness goals. You can create workout challenges together too! Bike around the area, run and beat each other's PR, or even do circuit drills.
